Most used copiers today are bought online and shipped — you'll never stand in front of the machine before it arrives. That's completely normal and low-risk if you buy the right way. The key is replacing "seeing it in person" with the right proof and protections. Here's how to buy sight unseen with confidence.
The meter is the most important number you can't guess from a photo. A trustworthy seller provides the exact reading without hesitation — and ideally a photo of the meter screen. If they dodge the question, walk away.
Ask for actual photos of the specific unit (not stock images), including any cosmetic wear, plus the serial number. The serial confirms the exact model and configuration and lets you verify it's a real machine. Stock-photo-only listings are a red flag.
Sight-unseen buying is only safe when the machine is inspected and test-run before it ships. Ask specifically: has it been tested? Are print and scan quality verified? Get the answer, the condition, and the included consumables in writing on your invoice or order.
Your protection for a remote purchase is the warranty. Look for at least a 30-day parts-and-labor warranty, and understand the process if something's wrong on arrival. A seller who stands behind the machine after it ships is the whole game when you're buying remotely.
Copiers ship on a pallet by freight. Confirm:
Longevity is its own proof. A seller who's supplied the trade for years, has real reviews, and answers the phone is far safer than a one-off marketplace listing. We've supplied used copiers since 1991, test every machine before it ships, and back it with a warranty — which is what makes buying from us sight unseen safe.
Buying a used copier you haven't seen is routine and low-risk when you get the meter reading, real photos and serial, written confirmation it's tested, a warranty, and insured freight — from an established seller.
