Ricoh vs Konica Minolta: Which Used Color Copier Should You Buy?

by Copier Liquidation Center on October 05, 2026

By Copier Liquidation Center · Updated October 5, 2026. We sell used Ricoh copiers, including Ricoh-built Savin and Lanier machines. This is our buying advice as a Ricoh-focused seller.

A tested used Ricoh is worth putting on your shortlist when you want to own a color office copier and choose from clearly priced inventory. A Konica Minolta bizhub can also fit the job. Compare the exact models and machines offered: the badge alone does not establish print quality, reliability or running cost.

For a useful starting point, consider the Ricoh IM C4500 and Konica Minolta bizhub C450i. Both occupy the 45-page-per-minute color office category. That makes them more relevant alternatives than comparing a compact desktop Ricoh with a large floor-standing bizhub.

These are rated speeds, not timed results from a side-by-side test. Duplex jobs, larger paper, complex files and finishing can change actual throughput.

Why we would start with a used Ricoh

Our Ricoh inventory gives you a concrete purchase to evaluate: a listed equipment price, a machine whose meter you can request, and a seller that inspects and tests the copier before sale. You can compare the IM C4500 with other used Ricoh color copiers and choose the size and price that fit your work.

The advantage is the complete offer. Ask what is included and what it costs to deliver to your office. A competitor's base machine price and a Ricoh quote with additional trays or finishing are not directly comparable until the configurations match.

Which copier prints better color?

Request the same sample file on the paper you intend to use. Include your company logo, photos, small text and a large solid color area. Look for streaks, uneven coverage, alignment and readable text. A demonstration on ordinary paper does not prove that your brochure stock will work equally well.

For heavier paper, confirm tray-specific limits and duplex support. Our brochure and cardstock guide lists the questions to ask before purchasing.

When could staying with Konica Minolta make sense?

If your office already has a supported bizhub fleet, compatible software and a service provider you trust, retaining that setup may avoid migration work. Include that work in your comparison. If you are starting fresh or replacing a machine with an expensive quote, a used Ricoh gives you another ownership option to price.

Questions buyers ask

Is Ricoh cheaper to run than Konica Minolta?

Not automatically. Compare supply prices, yields under comparable conditions, maintenance, page coverage and any service-contract minimums for the exact models. Ask for a written cost breakdown instead of accepting a brand-wide cost-per-page claim.

Can I switch brands without replacing my computers?

A brand change usually involves drivers and print queues, but you should also check operating-system support, scan authentication, accounting software and finishing settings. Have your IT provider confirm the required workflow before ordering.

What should I send to get a useful comparison?

Send the competing model number and quote, with personal or account details removed, plus your monthly volume and finishing requirements. We can prepare a Ricoh alternative based on the equipment we actually have.
