Serving Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Lompoc, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.
Our Central Coast service area, following the 101 from Ventura and Oxnard north through Santa Barbara and Santa Maria to San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles.
We deliver the copier ourselves, a certified Ricoh technician installs it and sets it up on your network, and your staff know how to run it before we leave. It's a straightforward run up the 101 for us, so the Central Coast gets the same service as Orange County.
The copier is delivered, installed and running in your office before any money changes hands. If it isn't the machine for you, we take it away at no charge.
In 40 years, we have never had to take a copier back.
This stretch of coast has an unusually mixed economy, and the right machine varies a lot along it.
Agriculture across the Oxnard plain, the Santa Maria Valley and the Salinas-facing growing country runs on documentation — food-safety and compliance records, certifications, harvest and yield paperwork, bills of lading and packing documentation, with hard seasonal peaks. Durable high-volume black-and-white with a dependable duplexing feeder handles that far more economically than colour, and it's worth sizing the machine for your busy months rather than your average.
Wine and hospitality through Santa Ynez, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara and the Pismo corridor produce customer-facing colour — tasting menus, wine lists, event programmes, rack cards, guest material. That work gets judged on appearance, so colour consistency and heavier stock handling matter. Tell us the paper you use and we'll calibrate on install.
Education and research around the Goleta and San Luis Obispo campuses generates volume in bursts through the academic year, with real finishing requirements.
Professional and civic offices — legal, medical, insurance, property, county — across Ventura, Santa Barbara and SLO run steady predictable volume with heavy scanning. That's the classic profile where owning outright beats a five-year lease.
The coastal climate is easy on people and slightly harder on office equipment than most offices realise.
Paper absorbs moisture from the air. In persistent marine-layer humidity an open ream sitting in a storeroom takes it on, and damp paper curls, misfeeds, jams at the registration rollers and fuses less cleanly — which shows up as toner that scuffs or lifts. Offices chase this as a hardware fault when the answer is how the paper is stored.
What works, and you're welcome to it whether you buy from us or not: keep paper sealed in its ream until you load it, store it in the same conditioned room as the copier so it acclimatises, don't leave a half-used stack open in the tray overnight in damp weather, and give a machine that has sat cold over a weekend time to reach room temperature before a big job. Near the water, a dehumidifier in the copier room pays for itself.
We go through it on install day.
Most of the corridor is easy — business parks in Camarillo, Goleta, Santa Maria and SLO have good vehicle access and simple scheduling. Agricultural and winery offices sometimes involve a gate code or a longer approach from the road, so let us know.
Where a word in advance helps is the historic downtowns — State Street in Santa Barbara, downtown SLO, and the older Ventura buildings — where offices are often upstairs with limited street access and restricted loading. Tell us the floor and the access when you call and we'll plan around it.
Henry has been a Ricoh technician for 40 years. The Ricoh SC error code library on this site — SC101 through SC998, cross-referenced against Ricoh's own service manuals — is ours, and technicians around the country use it every day.
Setup means network addressing, scan-to-email or scan-to-folder with the right permissions, drivers on the workstations that need them, address book and user codes, finisher calibration, and image density and registration checked on your paper. That's a technician's job, not a delivery job.
Before a used copier enters inventory we read its own service history off the machine — total counter, jam history by location, fault log, maintenance counters and parts already replaced — and confirm wear on rollers, drums, developer and fusing matches the count. Anything with a repeating fault we pass on, however low the meter. Every unit leaves on current firmware.
Our technician's checklist explains what to look at on any used machine, from any seller.
Ricoh first — selling Ricoh, Xerox and Lanier since 1991 — plus Canon, Kyocera, Sharp and Konica Minolta as we source them. Savin, Gestetner and Lanier are rebadged Ricoh engines, so parts and service match Ricoh. We publish the actual meter count, not a range.
New to the Ricoh name? Our guide to choosing between the major brands explains where each fits.
We also have a page for Santa Barbara specifically, and we cover the southern San Joaquin Valley, the Monterey Bay area and all of Northern California.
