Serving Yuba City, Marysville, Chico, Oroville, Paradise, Red Bluff, Redding, Anderson, Dunsmuir, Mount Shasta, Weed and Yreka — the full I-5 corridor to the Oregon border.
Our far northern service area, following I-5 from Yuba City and Chico through Redding and Mount Shasta up to Yreka.
Yes, we come to you — all the way up. We drive as far north as Yreka, and we deliver the copier, install it and set it up on your network in person. That is not something most sellers will do at this distance.
The copier is delivered, installed and running in your office before any money changes hands. If it isn't the machine for you, we take it away at no charge.
In 40 years, we have never had to take a copier back.
If your office is in Redding, Chico or Yreka, you already know the problem with office equipment: the dealer network thins out fast north of Sacramento. A service call can mean a technician driving a long way, on their schedule, and a machine sitting idle in the meantime.
Two things we do are aimed squarely at that.
We hand you a machine that has already proven itself. Nothing enters our inventory without us reading its internal service history first — total counter, jam history by location, fault log, maintenance counters, and which parts have already been replaced. Anything showing a repeating fault pattern we pass on, regardless of how low the meter is. Then every machine goes out on current firmware, which removes a whole category of network and scanning problems that look like hardware faults and aren't. Distance is exactly why we are this fussy.
We teach your staff to handle the routine things. Before we leave, whoever runs the machine day to day learns how to clear a jam properly without disturbing the transport or fusing assembly, change toner and waste toner, keep the scanner glass and document-feeder rollers clean — the single biggest factor in consistently sharp copies — read what the panel is telling them when a code appears, and tell the two-minute jobs from the ones genuinely worth a technician's visit.
An office that can handle its own routine maintenance isn't waiting on anyone. That's worth more in Siskiyou County than it is in Sacramento.
And you can always call us. A great many copier questions are answerable over the phone, and we've been doing exactly that for decades. Our Ricoh SC error code library is free and public for the same reason.
Redding is one of the hottest cities in the country in summer, and the northern valley runs hot and dry generally. Copiers are more sensitive to that than people expect.
Paper kept in an unconditioned back room, barn or warehouse loses moisture and curls, which produces misfeeds and jams that look like machine faults but are really paper faults. A machine working hard in a hot room without airflow will throw fusing-related codes it would never throw in a cooled office. And in dry, dusty conditions — or after a smoky season — fine dust on the optics and rollers degrades copy quality steadily enough that people stop noticing until it's bad.
The practical version, and you're welcome to it whether you buy from us or not: keep the machine in conditioned space, leave clearance around the vents instead of pushing it to a wall, keep paper sealed in its ream until you load it and store it in the same room so it acclimatises, and wipe the glass and feed rollers more often than the manual suggests. We'll walk through all of it on install day.
Agriculture and food production across the valley — rice, orchards, olives, processing — runs on compliance records, certifications, yield and harvest paperwork, invoices and delivery notes, with sharp seasonal peaks. Durable high-volume black-and-white with a dependable duplexing feeder does that far more economically than colour, and if your busy months are several times your quiet ones, size the machine for the peak rather than the average.
Healthcare, county and municipal offices in Redding, Chico, Yuba City and the county seats run steady year-round volume with heavy scanning for records. Reliable duplexing and properly configured scan-to-folder matter more than headline speed.
Education around Chico and the district offices generates volume in bursts through the school year, with real finishing requirements — stapling and booklet work.
Forestry, construction and trades across Shasta, Tehama and Siskiyou counties need durable, simple machines that produce work orders, invoices and permits without fuss.
Small businesses in the far north — Mount Shasta, Weed, Dunsmuir, Yreka — usually want a compact, dependable unit and someone who will actually turn up. That's the whole reason we drive it.
Henry has been a Ricoh technician for 40 years. Setup means network addressing, scan-to-email or scan-to-folder with the right permissions, drivers on the workstations that need them, address book and user codes, finisher calibration, and image density and registration checked on the paper you actually run. Doing that properly on the day is the difference between a copier that works immediately and one that never quite settles — which matters a great deal when the nearest alternative technician is hours away.
Ricoh first — selling Ricoh, Xerox and Lanier since 1991 — plus Canon, Kyocera, Sharp and Konica Minolta as we source them. Savin, Gestetner and Lanier are rebadged Ricoh engines, so parts and service match Ricoh, which also means parts stay easy to get in rural areas.
New to the Ricoh name? Our guide to choosing between the major brands explains where each fits, and the technician's checklist covers judging any used machine.
We also cover Greater Sacramento, the North Coast, and the Sierra foothills and Tahoe. See all Northern California regions.
